Todd Clouser: Listen n' Read
Way I Feel
(Todd Clouser)
January 4, 2007
I woke like a new man
I woke with everything to say
Dug a soul from morning gotta make its way
I saw Mother nature’s father
He said daughter go and make it rain
Sent her out fightin he’s not the one to blame
I took to the old bridge Downtown
I took a pen drunk with angry paint
I gave a dollar to the teller let me write my name
I felt like running to the desert
I felt I could see where the people pray
I felt my forehead on the window of an aeroplane
Kid you got it figured if you’d just get on your way
And that’s the way I feel
Oh like Old Dakota
Im split through the middle in two
You’d have dig like a shovel to find my youth
But I’llwalk like a poet
Im gonna talk like a pocket of change
Gonna speak like a silent army
Ill watch what I tell ya
We gonna end up in the same place
