Little eyes

Make your little eyes wide awake

She tied her scarf on in the London wind
Stood in a top hat wiped the love off her young wine lips
Big black coat on and a diamond ring
Taxi money pockets and she’s in mood to conversate

She’s got no time for me anyway

I caught her passing by the kings park
Was walking writing something in my head but didn’t get too far
I took a guess at her kind of bar
Hotel lobby black carpet just her tips in the old glass jar

She looks at nothing
But she seems to concentrate
Little Eyes Little Eyes I want to be the one you break

Tilts back her neck, back on a hardwood chair
Mirror ‘hind the bottles I look hard but it don’t change her stare
The bartender speaks she runs her hand through her hair
I wanna speak before the lines on my face grow to more than I can bare

I dropped my empty bottle to the cold dead floor
Shattered like a widow into diamonds and she came like I knew she would
I spoke every word like never before
She laughed without speaking said people’s promises are such a bore

And I fell hard for love
finding someone to really break you is tough
Little Eyes Little Eyes, would you care for my name

I scraped the rocks from her black boot tops
Offered her a drink knowing she’s say yes but never be bought
She spoke like a judge, only told me what I’m not
I’ve done that all myself girl, you’re talking now tell me what it is you want

Your bags on an aeroplane
Some storm that don’t taste the same
Little Eyes, Little Eyes, I want to be the one you break
